O polních opevněních máme řadu informací z dobových vojenských příruček a archeologických výzkumů. Jak náročné bylo jejich budování časově, organizačně a fyzicky se ale dozvídáme jen obtížně. K získání takovýchto informací má přispět náš experiment.

V sobotu 16:10.2021 se tedy pokusíme postavit repliku dělostřelecké reduty v prostoru rakovnického bojiště. Abychom se přiblížili dobové realitě, chceme do stavby zapojit skupiny různě motivovaných a zdatných pracovníků. Více informací pro zájemce na www.1620.cz

Experiment bude součástí Mezinárodního dne archeologie (http://denarcheologie.cz/) a během soboty proběhne komentovaná vycházka po rakovnickém bojišti, kterou povede Mgr. Kateřina Blažková, archeoložka Muzea T. G. M. Rakovník (https://www.muzeumtgm.cz/). Vycházka začne ve 14:00 u budovy muzea a po příchodu k budované redutě budou připraveny krátké přednášky k tématu polních opevnění.

Na experimentu se bude podílet Ústav archeologické památkové péče středních Čech.

Archaeological experiment with reconstruction of an artillery redoubt

We have a lot of information about field fortifications from period military manuals and archaeological research. However, it is difficult to find out how difficult it was to build them in terms of time, organization and amount of physical work. Our experiment should help to obtain such information.

The experiment will be part of the International Day of Archeology (http://denarcheologie.cz/) and during Saturday there will be a guided walk around the Rakovník battlefield, led by Mgr. Kateřina Blažková, archaeologist of Muzeum T. G. M. Rakovník (https://www.muzeumtgm.cz/). The walk will start at 14:00 at the museum building and after arriving at the redoubt site, short lectures on the topic of field fortifications will be prepared.
